The Royal Wedding – Your Chance to See the Wedding in Person

Ten people from Gwent (Monmouthshire, Caerphilly, Newport, Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen) will have the opportunity to go inside the walls of Windsor Castle on May 19 to see part of the wedding of HRH Prince Henry of Wales and Ms Meghan Markle.  Lord Lieutenants from across the UK have been asked to nominate people who have made a significant or notable contribution to their local community or to Wales.  At least some of those selected should be young people who have undertaken inspiring work or acted as leaders in their communities.  Each person selected will be able to identify someone to accompany them.

This is not an invitation to the wedding.  Those selected to attend will be admitted into the grounds of Windsor Castle to watch the arrival of guests at St George’s Chapel, then listen to a broadcast of the service, and finally watch the departure of the carriages after the service.

If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, please write to the Lord Lieutenant or email with your full name, age (if under 18),postal address, email address and telephone number, plus a short statement of why you think you should be selected.  Letters or emails must arrive not later than Wednesday 14 March to meet Buckingham Palace’s deadline.  Any queries should be addressed to Caroline Creer on 0207 024 4174.
